Becoming Part of the
NCBLA Network

The NCBLA needs you. First, if you can find a way to support our efforts financially that would be a tremendous help. Most corporate grants do not cover basic operating expenses. Your gift will help us continue to expand our website, and expand the good work that we do. Go to Donate to NCBLA for information concerning giving.

Second, if you know of any literacy or library situation unfolding anywhere in the country that deserves all of our attention — pending legislation, library closings, or literacy organization needs — please inform us and we will do everything we can to spread the word and bring attention to the need. Email us at: info@thencbla.org and put "Activist Alert" in the email subject heading.

Third, we want to develop an email communication chain to get the word out quickly in case we need immediate action on an issue. If you would like to be part of that communication chain please send us an email that contains your name, address, phone number, email address, and particular interests concerning literacy, libraries, literature, and the arts. The NCBLA is not a membership organization. But we would like to expand our professional base, creating a Friends of the NCBLA support group that we may call on for specific help from time to time, to gather information and spread news. If you are a teacher, librarian, professor or academic; author or illustrator; an interested member of the media; an employee of a not-for- profit that services children and/or literacy, library, literature, or arts needs; a museum administrator; a pediatrician or pediatric nurse; or a youth or sports organization director or employee; please email us and provide the following information: Your name, address, phone number, and email address, as well as your profession and professional interest in young people, literacy, libraries, and literature.
