The Teacher Handbook
Greetings! We have created the NCBLA Teacher Handbook to help you help the students you work with become lifelong readers and writers.
The NCBLA believes that outside of parents and guardians, you are the most influential person in a child’s life. Never underestimate the impact you have on the kids you work with, no matter what their age or personal reality. And when children come from homes where parents and guardians, for whatever reason, cannot fulfill their responsibilities, your influence is invaluable.
We care about you and honor your commitment and passion. We want to do everything we can to support you in your efforts to educate all of our children and have created the Teacher Handbook with that goal in mind. We know that you are not only educating our children, you are educating parents, too, so please feel free to download, copy, and share any information in the Parent & Guardian Handbook with your students' parents. You will also find helpful information in the General Resource and Reference Department.
If you have ideas that have worked for you, ideas that help kids to read and write, and connect kids to books and libraries, let us know. And if you have found print or electronic resources that have helped you and/or your students, please take the time to let us know about those, too. If you have a question, need, or concern we have not addressed contact us and we will try to address your concerns in a future web edition.
