Mary Brigid Barrett
President and Executive Director
Mary Brigid Barrett, President and Executive Director of the National Children's Book and Literacy Alliance (read Mary Brigid Barrett's bio here), is the author of the award-winning picture books Sing to the Stars and Day Care Days, a series of four board books, and is both author and illustrator of a Christmas book, The Man of the House at Huffington Row. She is a professional educator and has taught in the illustration department at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Mary Kemper
Assistant Director
Mary Kemper has had a long and avid interest in children's literatureand literacy issues. While raising her family, she actively volunteered in schools and libraries gaining knowledge and multiple perspectives on literacy, literature, and library issues. Once her three daughters were launched into the world, she worked in children's bookstores acting as a liaison between schools and the retail world, planning and managing children's book fairs for schools, as well as managing in-store author events. Currently, she works and resides in New York as a paralegal and executive assistant.
Geri Zabela Eddins
Executive Program Director
Geri Zabela Eddins is program director, researcher, and writer at the NCBLA. Geri is a voracious reader who has indulged a lifelong passion for the written word in her education, work, and volunteer experiences. She is thrilled to be actively engaged in promoting literacy as Program Director of the NCBLA. Geri’s earlier career experience includes over ten years as a technical writer in the computer software industry. Her volunteer experience includes working with children in classrooms and tutoring ESL students at the town library. Geri holds both a BA and MA in English. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and two teenage sons.
Elizabeth Rock
Illustrator, web manager
Elizabeth Rock is an editorial illustrator and freelance designer. She is almost entirely unknown for her unique body of work, a collection which veers between impenetrable allegorical representations of vague concepts and miniscule, illegible drawings done most commonly on cocktail napkins, paper placemats, and the small, torn-off corners of things. www.elizabethrock.com
